Although I did a couple of loads of laundry and ran a few errands, the rest of my day has been a play date with my husband. We drove downtown (Fresno, not SF) and took photos of old houses and buildings. We walked up and down streets, ran across intersections, said “hi” to a few people, and got some funny looks. Fresno is not a busy place so it’s pretty easy to muddle around in an area and take photos, unlike this photographer in San Francisco who ran into some security guards.
These are three samples from our stops. You are most welcome to head over to my flickr account to see others.

Although uninhabitable, this house is in a cluster of homes at Amador & L streets that have historical protection from demolition.
And since it’s Friday, I have to share my Fix-It-Friday photo with you. I call this “girl in purple.” In PhotoShop I tweaked the curves, sharpened the edges, and then applied a fresco filter. Please give this exercise a try and let me know of your results.

That’s fun! I love turning photos into “paintings.”
I love the house in the first picture! Why is it uninhabitable? I want it!
the house is crumbling away. Probably the electrical is shot and the floors unsafe. Some of the windows are boarded up and there is a fence around the building. The one next door that burned would have cost $400,000 to restore and would only have a value of $250,000. The real estate market in Fresno is pretty bad right now.
That is amazing. So greatly done that I may have to give that a try on some of my photos. Thanks for the visit to my website as well.
