The big celebration that we have worked on for over six months has finally come. The church was filled for the 130th anniversary. People came from all over, sort of like a homecoming.
The men’s chorus sang a few numbers, a real treat for us:
Our former minister returned and spoke about the past and what the church has done in 130 years, but more importantly what the church still has to do in the future:
Then we went over to the fellowship hall and ate good food and looked at all the displays and chatted with friends:
It was a great day. I’m just glad it’s over.

What a great celebration! Look at all those people… I hear you about being glad it’s over. Now you can get your life back! Congratulations on a job well done.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. You are a credit to your church. Not many people would step up to such a large obligation. It looks beautiful.
After you rest, you will be ready to go again.
Sounds like a great day.
My husband and I started a church here in SF in October. Just 5 months in, it’s encouraging to see a church celebrating 130 years. Thank you for sharing!
congrats and what a wonderful anniversary celebration!
