Summer mornings

One real plus for being in Fresno during summer is the morning light streaming through the front window.

I get ecstatic at this time of year to see the wonderful light effects every morning. It won’t last very long. The days will grow shorter, the sun will shift farther to the south, the fog will shroud the valley and winter’s gloom will set in.

But for these few brief summer weeks, I will rejoice in the sunlight filtering through the mulberry leaves, leaving dappled shadows on walls and floor.
