Just got my first summer fruit CSA box. Two kinds of peaches, yellow nectarines, pluots, and ONE peachcot.

Lucky you! We’re still a while away from locally-grown summer fruits.
One of our local growers, whose trees are of heirloom varieties, has already picked and shipped one variety of peach and one variety of plum. His crops go exclusively to upscale restaurants in LA and SF areas. In early August, he allows the public to come in and pick from trees they “leased” the previous fall. Tomorrow we are slated for 100 degree weather.
