The week with grandchildren

Fresno has a pretty amazing zoo. We took the grandkids there last year but they were more interested in ice cream and the playground than seeing the animals. Leeya had asked to go again, and the timing seemed right for this recent stay although it was pretty chilly. Fortunately we could start in the warm reptile house.

2015/01/img_8269.jpg They got to feed the giraffes but the long-necked creatures made quick work of the lettuce leaves offered by Judah and Leeya. So quick that there were no pictures of the event. Their great Aunt Edie lives in Florida and sends them many items with flamingos emblazoned on them so we had to take a picture with the bright pink birds. (It’s mating season for the birds.)

2015/01/img_8278.jpg The next day, after watching a goodly amount of PBS cartoons, we raked leaves.

2015/01/img_8334.jpg Leeya made a necklace for me with a craft project I had left over from those days I taught Sunday School.

2015/01/img_8331.jpg Judah likes to play with his trucks and fire engines.

2015/01/img_8346.jpg The kids played hard each day, and we were all very tired by the end of the day. Leeya took this picture of their Bible storybook from which we read each night before falling asleep.
