I’m headed to Yosemite

Yes, we live just a couple of hours from the National Park, but that’s not the Yosemite I’m talking about. Today I am taking my MacBook Pro and going to the Apple store to download the Yosemite operating system.

I have put it off long enough. I need the iCloud connection with this computer that I have on my iPhone. I need to get system updates. So, today is the day I’m doing this. Just posting this is reinforcing my plans to do it. Do you sense a bit of trepidation?

Yes, there is hesitation. There is trepidation. I talked about doing this last month and then found all kinds of excuses to not go to the Apple store. For one, it’s in Fresno’s regional mall, a place I seldom go except when I need makeup from Sephora, new shoes for the grandchildren, or a visit to the Apple store. Second, I am concerned about what I already have on the computer. Will it seamlessly integrate with that new operating system? We all know the answer to that. Technology is never seamless as we would like it to be.

I have done my back up. I am ready. I will let you know how it goes.

  1. I saw your post on Facebook about being in the Apple store, seeing a class being taught by a ten-year-old to a bunch of senior citizens. 🙂

  2. good luck, don’t envy you!

  3. And? I haven’t done it yet….

    • I don’t know how out of date you are, but I was 3 versions behind so it was a surprise to see all the changes on my screen. I’m learning to maneuver my wY with the new system as it’s quite intuitive, like all Apple products.

My biggest fear was losing my Adobe software, but it is still there and usable.

  4. I had to ask Art and he said our MacBook Air came with Yosemite. Sigh… need to learn how to use it. Arrgh!
