Yes, today is Friday, but when it’s been a busy week like this past one, Friday feels like Saturday. A day with no obligations. I don’t even have to do laundry today because I have tomorrow–the real Saturday–to accomplish that chore.
It’s also the end of the month, and as I previously wrote, the beginning of the great month of February. Terry and I are starting early with our anniversary celebration and heading north for a special lunch. The high school in a nearby community has a culinary program that involves running a restaurant on the school’s campus. The teacher/director of the program is the daughter of a former teacher of mine. I receive her newsletters for the restaurant and decided the menu and the timing coincided this week for us to go there for lunch. The restaurant is only open two days a week, one of those days being Friday. Last year, The Ladies Who Lunch made this one of their places to meet.
We had to make reservations in advance, and we must be there precisely at noon. This is a high school class and preparation and timing are everything. I ordered the French onion soup and the short ribs. Terry ordered the stuffed chicken breast and strawberry cupcake. I’ll take pictures and let you know how it turns out. No matter what, though, we will have fun, and it will be great experience for a group of high school students. If you would like more details about this class, click here.
