Words to start the new year

On the first morning of the new year I began to think about what I’ve done in the past year and how will I live in the new year. With my journal, devotional, and Bible, I read text and made notes. This is the passage from Isaiah 1 that spoke the loudest to me:

Say no to wrong.
    Learn to do good.
Work for justice.
    Help the down-and-out.
Stand up for the homeless.
Go to bat for the defenseless.

Although none of us know what 2018 will bring to us, we can choose what we will bring to the year.

  1. It seems you and I have been thinking about the same things for the new year. I posted about this on my blog just in the last few days. I wish everyone would think of doing at least one of these things.

  2. Wonderful thoughts going into 2018.

  3. Dear Isiah: That’s how we roll.

You have a great new year.

  4. These are wonderful sentiments, and I do believe you already do most or all of them. I will try to do more myself.

  5. There’s always, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” That’s always a good one…sort of all encompassing. 🙂

  6. With those words as your guidepost it’s sure to be a good year.

  7. It’s nice to have this type of thinking at all times.
