But imagine: You live your life and then, when you get to the other side, you’re asked, “What did you do with all these years we gave you?” You don’t want the answer to be, “Oh, I watched ‘Ozark.’ ” Imagine the look on everybody’s face, and you standing there like a complete idiot, having to explain what you thought was so interesting about some lousy TV show, when you once lived in a universe of wonder and abundance that was full of nothing but interesting things that you chose to ignore.
LOL… Ain’t that the truth??? LOL Oh my… Life is so very precious that I do feel guilty when I get nothing accomplished in a day other than just enjoying the peace of it. Hugs…
some of us were raised with high standards for work. My dad never spent a day doing nothing. Even when he took a day off, we went somewhere. He did, though, occasionally just sit on the back step and just think, probably about his crops, but he was sitting. My mother never just sat unless she was eating a meal or reading the newspaper. Therefore, being raised with such strong work ethics, I have trouble just sitting.
So, so true..
I think you have done a little more than that, my friend. But you’re right: the older I get the less I want to waste my time on trivialities. 🙂
Yep! If it annoys me or takes too much of my precious time, then I say NO.
A good reminder. Thank you.
I think I’d reply, I’d mostly enjoyed it in my own way. You’ve heard the saying ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy – well that’s how I’ve lived. Mix it up!
I might be hard pressed to come up with a suitable answer at the pearly gates – but I’ve had an interesting life in some decades!
